Franz Shoemaker
Franz Schuhmacher (born January 5, 1939 in Spaichingen ) is a German entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ).
Life and work
After elementary school in Spaichingen, a shoemaker completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic. He then attended a remedial class and a technical school and passed the foreman examination. He then worked as a designer and went into business for himself in 1966. Schuhmacher is married and has three children.
politics
In 1968 Schuhmacher was elected to the local council of Spaichingen, in which he also became chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. From 1972 to 1998 he was chairman of the CDU in Spaichingen. In 1996 he became a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , of which he was a member until 2006. There he represented the constituency of Tuttlingen-Donaueschingen .
Honors
The city of Spaichingen granted Schuhmacher honorary citizenship . In 1989 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit and in 1999 first class.
