Franz Theodor Würbel
Franz Theodor Würbel (born June 1858 in Vienna , † after 1943 in Berlin ) was an Austrian portrait painter as well as poster artist, illustrator and lithographer.
Born the son of the painter Franz Würbel (1822–1900), he studied at the Vienna Art Academy under Christian Griepenkerl , Carl Wurzinger , Karl von Blaas and August Eisenmenger .
After graduating, he worked as a portrait painter and lithographer in Vienna. He moved to Berlin around 1928 and stayed there for life. There he mainly dealt with commercial graphics and poster art. He created an allegorical ceiling painting in the stairwell of the Dresdner Bank headquarters in Berlin . His existence can be proven until 1943, the date of his death is unknown.
