Franz Weschke

Franz Max Vollrath Weschke (born October 2, 1883 in Dresden ; † October 31, 1944 there ) was a German sculptor .

Life

Franz Weschke studied from 1907 to 1911 at the Dresden Art Academy and was a master student of Georg Wrba and Richard Müller in painting. From 1913 he worked as a freelance sculptor in Dresden.

Weschke died in Dresden at the end of October 1944, he was buried in the Tolkewitz urn grove . A few months later, in February 1945, the bombing of Dresden destroyed his former apartment at 30 Reissigerstrasse and his studio at 41 Zinzendorfstrasse, along with all of his drawings and pictures, as well as his sculptural works.
