Franz Wirl
Franz Wirl (born November 21, 1951 in Vienna ) is an Austrian scientist in the field of business administration. He is a professor for industry, energy and the environment at the University of Vienna .
Life
Wirl studied business and planning mathematics at the Technical University of Vienna , where he received his doctorate in 1982. He completed his habilitation in 1989.

To date he has written three books and over 200 scientific papers. These have been published in well-known journals, including the Journal of Economics and Business , Environmental and Resource Economics and Resource and Energy Economics .
In the Handelsblatt Betriebswirte Ranking 2009, 2012 and 2014, which analyzes the research performance of business economists in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland based on publications since the start of their careers, it was awarded first place.
