Franz Witek

Franz Witek (born June 26, 1946 in Bad Ischl ) is an Austrian classical philologist .

Life

He studied from 1964 to 1969 at the University of Salzburg , where he passed the examination for teaching at secondary schools in German, Latin and Greek. From 1969 to 1972 he taught at a general secondary school and at other types of schools. From 1972 he was a federal teacher in the Department of Classical Studies at the University of Salzburg, where he did his doctorate with Georg Pfligersdorffer and Wolfgang Speyer in 1977 and obtained his habilitation in Classical Philology / Latin Studies in 2008 .
