Franz Xaver Kronberger

Franz Xaver Kronberger (born December 12, 1913 in Thann near Aschau am Inn ; † October 31, 2010 ) was a German Catholic clergyman.

Career

Kronberger was ordained a priest on March 31, 1940. His years as chaplain took him to Endorf , Wartenberg and Grafing . He then worked as an assistant in the finance chamber of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising . In 1949 he was appointed cathedral vicar . In a part-time position he worked from 1953 to 1983 as a clergyman to the rectory and from 1962 to 1969 as President of the Marienanstalt in Warnberg . From 1966 he was a judge and notary in the consistory of the archdiocese. In 2002 he retired, but continued to work in the judiciary.

For the period from 1982 to 1995, on behalf of the Association for Diocesan History, he created an annual chronicle of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, which was published in the annual volumes of the journal "Contributions to the Old Bavarian Church History". In 1997 a chronicle of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising for the years 1945–1995 was published.

For his services he was honored in 1980 with the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany.
