Franz von Pentz

Franz Heinrich Friedrich von Pentz (born October 30, 1850 in Gremmelin, today part of Lalendorf ; † November 22, 1908 in Teterow ) was a German lawyer, mayor and member of parliament.

Life

Franz von Pentz came from the Mecklenburg prehistoric noble family von Pentz . He was one of 11 children and the fourth son of the domain councilor Gotthard von Pentz (1798–1878) on Gremmelin and his wife Marie, nee. from Hafften. After attending the cathedral school in Güstrow up to the Abitur and military service in the Franco-German War in 1870/71, he studied law at the universities of Rostock, Leipzig, Munich and Rostock again from the winter semester of 1873/74.

In 1875 he passed his exam in Rostock and was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD. After passing the judge's exam in 1879, he became a local judge in the Principality of Ratzeburg .

In 1880 he became mayor of Teterow. Here he stayed until the end of his life. In 1905 he celebrated his 25th anniversary in office. He represented the city in the state parliaments.

Since 1883 he was a member of the Association for Mecklenburg History and Archeology.
