Franziska Fuchs

Franziska Fuchs (born September 5, 1945 in Munich ) is a German painter and graphic artist .

life and work

Franziska Fuchs was born on September 5, 1945 in Munich. From 1961 she studied at private art schools, from 1969 to 1974 painting and graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . As a student of Mac Zimmermann , Fuchs initially turned to Fantastic Realism , later culture and society critical subjects increasingly dominate. Book illustrations were created from the mid-1970s, and the first solo exhibitions took place in Augsburg and St. Moritz in 1979. Typical of Fuchs' more recent work are portraits of animals and elegiac motifs, in which her political commitment to animal welfare often shines through. Fuchs lives as a freelance artist in Munich-Schwabing.
