Manuel Gerardo Corona Venegas (born January 7, 1983 in Konstanz , Baden-Württemberg ) is a former German - Mexican soccer player . He played in the position of goalkeeper during his playing days .

Club career

Manuel Corona began his career in the senior division with the Mexican club Altamira FC in the Primera División 'A' , where he was not used. He left the club in the summer of 2005 and moved to league rivals Petroleros de Salamanca . After two years he moved to the second team from the first division club Santos Laguna , which also played in the second division . Another two years later, Corona moved to league competitor CD Irapuato . Corona made his first appearance for CD Irapuato in the Liga de Ascenso in a 2-1 home win on March 1, 2009 against Socio Águila . At CD Irapuato, Corona wore jersey number 14 and was Adrián Martínez's substitute goalkeeper for the last two seasons .
