Scratch-As-Catch-Can (also Broadway Headliners: Sratch-As-Catch-Can ) is a 19-minute short film by US director Mark Sandrich and the film company RKO Pictures from 1931. The comedy won an Oscar in 1932 - Nomination in the category "Best Short Film - Comedy" , where she acted as a replacement for the previously disqualified entry Stout Hearts and Willing Hands . The Oscar, however, went to the short film comedy The Music Box , which is about a grueling piano transport.

Production notes

The template for the script comes from the comedian and singer Bobby Clark (actually Robert Edwin Clark, 1888-1960) and was registered on July 17, 1931 for copyright . This was implemented by the director Mark Sandrich as well as William Grew and Johnny Gray and filmed by RKO Pictures ; on October 17, 1931 the copyright entry for the film was made.

Bobby Clark appeared in the film with longtime comedy partner Paul McCullough .

On November 6, 1931, the short film was released in the feature film series Broadway Headliners in American cinemas. So far there has been no German publication.
