Franziska Pohlmann (* 1985 in Hamburg ) is a German director , film producer , screenwriter and composer .

Life

Franziska Pohlmann grew up as the daughter of Harald Wohlrapp and Johanna Pohlmann (teacher and trainer for personality development) in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. She studied applied cultural studies at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg and produced several musical theater pieces during that time. In addition to her training, she has worked in productions at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg (among others in René Pollesch's Mädchen In Uniform ; Die Dreigroschenoper ), at the Hamburg State Opera and the Lüneburg Theater . Her work is characterized by a holistic approach in which music always plays a decisive role. In 2013 she received a scholarship in the House of Young Producers in the Hamburg studio and wrote and produced her feature film debut with Die Krone von Arkus . In addition to the nationwide cinema release in December 2015, the film was invited to various international children's film festivals and is distributed nationally and internationally. For this film Pohlmann u. a. nominated for the German Director Prize Metropolis 2015 in the category "Best Director Children's / Youth Film" by the Federal Association of Directing , of which she is a member. Franziska Pohlmann has lived in Weimar since 2017 .
