Die Krone von Arkus is a German fairytale film by director Franziska Pohlmann from 2015 , which was made in Lüneburg and Baumannshöhle in the Harz Mountains. The film music was recorded with the Babelsberg film orchestra . The premiere took place at the Emden-Norderney International Film Festival in June 2015. The film opened in German cinemas on December 3, 2015.

Queen Diamanz Schiija rules the fairytale city of Arkus with an iron hand. Here only profitable work counts and at Christmas the queen demands an additional gift from her subjects. Anyone who does not satisfy them becomes petrified and from then on ekes out his existence as a statue in the castle cemetery. One Christmas Eve, however, the street children Saraja and Jono discover the secret of Shiija's power: it is in their crown. The children decide to steal the crown in order to free the citizens of Arkus from Shiiah's reign of terror. With the help of three special items, the crown can be destroyed. However, Saraja and Jono have to endure numerous adventures in search of these objects and need the help of their friends.

Kino-Zeit.de writes: " The Arkus Krone was created as a project for enthusiasts [...], the money was scraped together primarily with the help of patrons and fans. The Arkus Krone is such a film that, if you look closely, you can see every euro that was missing from the project, and at the same time every drop of heart and soul that goes into it. "

Spielfilm.de says: “The crazy fairy tale musical by Franziska Pohlmann dances carefree between romantic street children and borrowings from 'Alice in Wonderland', between costume and fantasy films enriched with special effects. The playful originality is by and large convincing, even if the variety of ideas sometimes turns eccentric. "
