Franziska detour
Franziska Umfahrer (born July 6, 1911 in Schrobenhausen , † March 1, 1988 in Kempten (Allgäu) ) was a German drawing teacher and art teacher and founder of the Franziska Umfahrer Foundation.
Life
Franziska Umfahrer comes from the Umfahrer family of furriers who used to live in Schrobenhausen. She was born on June 6, 1911 in Schrobenhausen and attended elementary school here and the Lyceum / Realschule run by the English ladies . In 1932 she was accepted at the State School for Applied Arts in Munich and this was followed by training as a drawing teacher at the grammar school.
Because of her critical attitude towards the National Socialists , she soon had major difficulties and therefore went to Italy until 1935. As a teacher she taught at the girls' secondary school " Institut der Englischen Fräulein (Krumbach) " and at the Schiller-Oberschule for girls in Dortmund. In 1946, soon after the end of the war, she took up a job at the city's Hildegardis Gymnasium in Kempten ; there she worked for 25 years as a teacher for art education (senior teacher).
She died in Kempten on March 1st, 1988.

The teacher has traveled to many countries around the world: Austria, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, Ceylon, Singapore, India, Burma, Thailand, Guatemala, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Turkey, USA, China and Greece.
Foundation, endowment
On October 25, 1987, the teacher Franziska Umfahrer set up a foundation and determined that 50 percent of the foundation's income should be paid out to the St. Georg retirement home in Schrobenhausen, as well as a quarter each to support the municipal museum and / or for measures to preserve the old Schrobenhausen Cityscape as well as for promoting and awarding young people. The sponsored Andrea Mayer, for example, now lives as a make-up artist in Berlin. The actor Ferdinand Schmidt-Modrow was also promoted. The Schrobenhausen City Treasury administers the funds.
