Ferdinand Schmidt-Modrow
Ferdinand Schmidt-Modrow (born April 30, 1985 in Aichach ; † January 15, 2020 in Bremerhaven ) was a German actor .
Career
His father comes from Hamburg and his mother from Ulm . Schmidt-Modrow grew up in Waidhofen in Upper Bavaria . He attended the grammar school in Schrobenhausen and played there since the 5th grade in the school theater. His film debut was Grenzverkehr by Stefan Betz , whose filming took place between the 12th and 13th grade. He got the role in border traffic after responding to an advertisement from the production company in the Schrobenhausener Zeitung .
He also played in the films Best Time and the sequel Best Area by Marcus H. Rosenmüller . For the role of "Rocky" in the film Beste Zeit he was nominated in 2007 for the German Film Award in the category of best young actor. In 2008 Schmidt-Modrow was seen in the film adaptation of Die Welle . He completed his training at the New Munich Drama School .
In November 2008 Ferdinand Schmidt-Modrow could be seen on stage in the live radio play Spring Heeled Jack in the Pasinger factory in Munich. In 2010 he played "Flori" in the folk play at the Luisenburg Festival, The Brandner Kaspar and eternal life . In 2011 he was seen in the movie A Very Hot Number as "Jakob". Since 2017 he has played the unconventional pastor Simon Brandl in the television series Dahoam is Dahoam .
Schmidt-Modrow died in January 2020 at the age of 34 from the consequences of a ruptured esophagus .
