history

The chapel, a hundred meters from Fuchsstadt on the road to Hammelburg , was built in 1797 from green sandstone. As the inscription on the central part of the altar attests, after the French troops marched through in 1796, the chapel was dedicated to the fourteen helpers out of fear and concern . The guardian angel relief above the entrance was renewed in 1970 by Georg Ruppert from Hammelburg. The relief was later the target of theft.

The classical altar is decorated with figures of St. Wendelin and St. Sebastian flanked. In 1970 the altar was renovated by Ernst Benkert from Sulzthal .

Both figures around the altar, like the guardian angel relief, fell victim to a theft. The figure of St. Sebastian could be secured. The figure of St. Wendelin and the guardian angel relief were renewed during a renovation in 1989, which was financed by donations from the people of Fuchsstadt.

In February 2015 the chapel was extensively renovated by the Fuchsstadt Fruit and Horticultural Association.
