Frauke Hegemann (born February 15, 1976 in Marburg ) is a German manager and CEO of the Comdirect Bank .

Life

Hegemann is a trained bank clerk and took part in Commerzbank's youth development program. She began her professional career in 1994 with an apprenticeship in asset management for corporate and institutional clients, where she rose to become a department director. In 2006 Hegemann switched to Spudy & Co., a leading service company for family offices, as an authorized signatory . The following year she returned to Commerzbank and held various management positions where she was responsible for looking after institutional and corporate customers, particularly in the media industry. From 2015, Hegemann built up a cross-divisional division from the Mittelstandsbank, Investment Banking and Wealth Management of Commerzbank, which specialized in family offices and high net worth private customers.

In 2018, Hegemann joined Comdirect Bank as a general representative . After the approval of the European Central Bank , she officially moved to the board of the Comdirect Bank in 2019 . As Chief Operating Officer (COO) she was responsible for the entire operational business including the areas of human resources and legal affairs. For example, Hegemann modernized customer management through the use of artificial intelligence . In addition to her work for the Comdirect Bank, she and her colleagues launched the “finance heldinnen” initiative, which aims to get women excited about financial issues.

At the turn of the year 2019/2020, Hegemann was appointed CEO of Comdirect Bank. She succeeded Arno Walter , who returned to Commerzbank as a divisional director. The group aims to fully take over its subsidiary founded in 1994 . Since the IPO in 2000, there has been a minority stake in the free float , the shareholders of which are now being compensated. Hegemann will lead the Comdirect Bank through this transition phase.

Hegemann was part of the supervisory boards of Ebase and Onvista and has been on the advisory board of the Schleswig-Holstein tax advisory supply for many years . She is also involved as chairwoman of the charitable foundation Rechnen .
