Fred Beir
Frederick Edwin Beir (born September 21, 1927 in Niagara Falls , New York , † June 3, 1980 in Hollywood , California ) was an American actor .
Life
After starting out on television in 1950, Beir received his first film role in Die Teufelspassage in 1954 . But he could not assert himself as a film actor; with numerous television roles, however, he developed into a sought-after guest star for many series, where he was mainly seen in adventure, detective and western episodes. In 1964, like many American television actors, he tried to gain a foothold in Italian and Spanish genre cinema. After two spaghetti westerns , however, only an agent film followed , so Beir continued his television career. He had the recurring role of "Larry Atwood" in 1977/1978 in the soap Days of Our Lives .
Beir was married to his colleague Sheila Wells from 1967 to 1969 , with whom he had a daughter born in 1969. He died of cancer at the age of 52.
