Fred Hynes
Frederic Charles Hynes (born May 8, 1908 in Nashville , Tennessee , † February 10, 1992 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American sound engineer .
Life
In 1933, Hynes made his first cinematic work as a sound recording assistant with the film Flaming Gold . In total, over the course of his career as a sound engineer, he has won 7 Academy Awards, two of which were honorary ones. He was chairman of the Todd-AO Sound Department and retired from active film business in 1972.
On April 21, 1943, Hynes married Donna Murphy, with whom he is now buried in Logan County , Ohio at Fairview Cemetery.
