John A. Bonner Medal
The John A. Bonner Medal is an award given at the Academy Awards in recognition of exceptional performance and commitment to maintaining the academy's high standards.
This award was named after John A. Bonner , a sound engineer who was on the Oscar jury for over thirty years. The award was presented for the first time in 1977, back then as the Medal of Commendation. It was not until 1997 that the medal was renamed in memory of John A. Bonner.
