Fred Almond

Fred Mandel (* in Canada ) is a keyboardist , guitarist and songwriter . He worked with Alice Cooper , Pink Floyd , Cheap Trick , Queen , Supertramp and Elton John .

Mandel was a member of Alice Cooper's band, for which he first played keyboard and later lead guitar. He also took part in songwriting, for example on the album Flush the Fashion produced by Roy Thomas Baker .

In the late 1970s he recorded keyboards for Pink Floyd's album The Wall .

In 1982, Fred Mandels began working with Queen, whom he accompanied on the second section of the " Hot Space " world tour as a keyboardist. In 1983 he recorded the mini-album Star Fleet Project (Brian May + Friends) in Los Angeles in joint live sessions with Brian May and Eddie Van Halen . In the same year he participated in the recordings of the Queen songs Radio Ga Ga , I Want to Break Free , Man on the Prowl and Hammer to Fall from the 1984 album The Works . He not only recorded synthesizers and piano, but also guitar for Freddie Mercury 's first solo album, Mr. Bad Guy , recorded in the Munich Musicland Studios and released in 1985.

In the 1980s, Mandel went on tour with Supertramp. He later played on numerous Elton John albums.
