Fred Marhenke

Fred Marhenke (born April 19, 1950 in Schallenburg ) is a former German judoka . He started for VfL Wolfsburg in the 1970s .

successes

Between 1972 and 1976 Fred Marhenke fourfold was German champion in middleweight . In 1977 he was once again German light middleweight champion . With VfL Wolfsburg, Marhenke was four times German judo team champion.

Fred Marhenke celebrated an international success in 1976 at the Summer Olympics in Montreal with a fifth place. At the European Championships in 1977 in Ludwigshafen , Marhenke won a bronze medal in the light middleweight division.

Fred Marhenke developed a floor technique named after him, the Marhenke-Würger (Tawara-jime).

Private

Fred Marhenke now works as the head of the automotive division at Volkswagen AG . He is the father of two daughters (twins).
