Fred Watson

Fred Watson (2013)

Fred G. Watson (born December 14, 1944 in Bradford , West Yorkshire , England ) is an Australian astronomer .

He works at the Anglo-Australian Observatory (AAO) at the Siding Spring Observatory . While doing this, Watson, a PhD, discovered Comet C / 1999 S2 (McNaught-Watson).

In 2003 he received the David Allen Prize from the Australian Astronomical Association.

In 2004 the asteroid (5691) Fredwatson was named after him.
