Fred Weidmann

Alfred Rudolf Weidmann (born January 21, 1938 in Herisau ) is a Swiss artist and sociologist. He has lived in Munich since 1983 .

life and work

From 1957 to 1970 he studied in the United States and Germany anatomy, sociology, ethnology and communication research and completed his doctorate in 1970 at the University of Cologne Dr. rer. pole. From 1965 to 1971 he worked as a sociologist and research assistant at the Institute for Communication Studies at the University of Bonn with a focus on misunderstanding research.

Weidmann has been a freelance artist since 1971 with a wide range of activities. He is active in the fields of visionary painting, trompe-l'œil painting, design of private and public spaces, majolica painting on tiles , sculpture in ceramics and other materials, illustration of books, magazines, CDs, design and painting for film , Television and industry.
