Robert Ellis Miller (born July 18, 1932 , according to other sources on July 13, 1927 in New York City , New York - † January 27, 2017 ) was an American film director .

Life

Robert Ellis Miller was already active as an actor as a pupil and student . He was employed by the television station CBS as a manuscript editor and later as an assistant director. As a director, he then staged plays and television films . 1966 made his debut as a director for the cinema with Every Wednesday . Miller's films are mostly thoughtful pieces with precise personal drawings. His greatest success was Ruben, Ruben in 1982 .
