Freddy Scholz

Freddy Scholz (born September 14, 1961 in Düsseldorf ) is a former German saber fencer and participant in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles . He fought at TSV Bayer Dormagen .

Scholz won the German Junior Championships in saber fencing in 1982. In the same year he was third in the German championships of the active . In 1984 he was runner-up. At the Olympic Games in 1984 he took part in individual and with the team. In the individual, he was able to qualify for the final round and was ultimately tenth. The men's saber team ( Schneider , Nolte , Stratmann , Volkmann ) took fourth place after a defeat against Romania in the battle for third place.

After his active career, Scholz worked as a trainer in Ratingen and trained among others Eero Lehmann .
