Jörg Volkmann

Jörg Volkmann (born January 25, 1958 in Wattenscheid ) is a former German saber fencer and participant in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles . He initially fought in Kenten, later at OFC Bonn .

Volkmann won the German Junior Championships in saber fencing in 1976 and 1977. In 1984 he was a member of the men's saber team that won fourth place at the Olympic Games. Together with Dieter Schneider , Jürgen Nolte , Jörg Stratmann and Freddy Scholz , he lost in the battle for third place against Romania.
