Free group Bayreuth

The Freie Gruppe Bayreuth Gruppe is an association of visual artists from all disciplines in Bayreuth . Their first exhibition took place in 1951. Today it is registered as a non-profit association .

history

The Free Group Bayreuth was founded in 1951 by local artists who had found their way to Bayreuth as war migrants. The first exhibition was organized in a school building, the Bayreuth Grass School. It coincided with the resumption of the Bayreuth Festival and was aimed not only at visitors from the region but also at the international festival audience. This concept was retained for over thirty years and went seamlessly into the annual Bayreuth art exhibitions, which are now organized by the Bayreuth Art Association. The members include artists such as Ferdinand Röntgen , Friedrich Böhme , Hanna Barth , Caspar Walter Rauh , Anton Richter , Arthur Seedorf and Rudolf Jakubek . At the exhibitions, among other measures Alfred Heinz Kettmann , Werner Knaupp , Herbert Bessel and Mike Rose part.
