The Free Waldorf School Wetterau ( within the school: FWW ) is a Waldorf school in Bad Nauheim .
General
The Free Waldorf School Wetterau is a general education school from grade 1 with a state-recognized and professionally oriented upper secondary school . It works according to the principles of Waldorf education . The school is run jointly by parents and teachers, which means that the parents are intensively involved in all areas. The Waldorf School has around 520 pupils who are taught by around 60 teachers.
The great commitment of the students is evident in many public performances, for example the high school choir sang Carmina Burana at a school concert in 2008 .
In the summer of 2002, a vaudeville company was founded, in which around 80 schoolchildren, alumni and vaudeville enthusiasts have met regularly since then. Once a year there is a big performance that is worked towards all year round. The first performance took place in July 2003. The seventh show took place in the summer of 2009. In 2012, in addition to the usual five sold-out shows, there was also an anniversary show for the ten-year existence of the association, in which artists from previous shows performed.
From the 5th grade onwards, the FWW introduces the two-pass option.
At the beginning of the 2010/2011 school year, the school’s own sports hall and a new factory building, with an in-house forge, were opened on the school’s premises.
In the 11th grade, the class is divided into BOS (vocational upper level) and GOS (high school upper level). In the BOS, students can improve their secondary school leaving certificate. For 12 weeks a year, the students have to complete several internships (at least two). In addition, the students receive career advice from the employment agency and special application and interview training.
