Twiste open-air theater

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Twiste open-air stage is an open-air stage in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg . It is located in the middle of the forest near the town of Twiste .

history

The first performances took place here in 1978. In 2000, some of the spectator seats were covered with two sails, so that the seats are protected from sun and rain.

The venue with around 900 spectator seats is operated by around 100 active members of the “Freilichtbühne Twiste eV” association. As a rule, two plays are staged here every year by the association's amateur theater group, a children's play and an evening play.

Since 1960, more than 200,000 spectators have attended the performances on the Twiste open-air stage, most recently up to 7,500 per season.
