Frenchglen is a place in Harney County in the state of Oregon in the United States . The site is 60 miles south of Burns on Oregon Route 205 .
Frenchglen is close to Steens Mountain and the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge and is home to the historic Frenchglen Hotel .
history
The parish is named for the French-Glenn Livestock Company, founded by Hugh J. Glenn and later joined by his son-in-law Peter French. French-Glenn built his headquarters there in 1872.
The National Park Service lists two buildings in the National Register of Historic Places for Frenchglen (as of January 11, 2019), next to the Frenchglen Hotel, the Riddle Ranch .
