Frid Ingulstad

Frid Ingulstad (born September 4, 1935 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian writer . With over four million books sold, she is the most successful author in her country.

Life

She grew up in Nordstrand in Oslo, where she still lives today. She trained as a stewardess and practiced this profession. She later worked as a ship telegraph operator at sea.

Author

Ingulstad has written over 175 books in total. She writes historical, psychological, tension and romance novels and non-fiction. The first book in the Ingebjørg Olavsdatter series (five books per year) is now available in German and is called Schicksalsmond in German , published by Projekt Verlag. The children's book Elgar der Elch (2000) is so far the only children's book published in German. She is considered an opinion maker in Norway. Readers' walks organized by it have up to 1000 participants.

Her novel series Sønnavind is currently Norway's most successful series. Approximately 55,000 copies are sold per book. The series is also published in Poland.
