Frida Lanius
Frida Lanius , married Frida Kreith-Lanius (born May 6, 1867 in Augsburg , † November 9, 1929 in Vienna ) was a German theater actress .
Life
Frida Lanius was the daughter of the actor couple Christian Lanius and Antonia Krägel . Although she was already on stage as a three-year-old child, she was brought up in the monastery, which she left when she was not yet 16 in order to devote herself to the stage career. At first she was employed in very small East Prussian theaters, then came to Preßburg and Linz, worked at the State Theater in Graz from 1890 to 1892, from 1892 to 1893 in first position at the State Theater in Breslau and was committed to this stage when the Raimund Theater was founded. In 1895 she left this stage and joined the Schiller Theater Association in Berlin, where she stayed until 1897. Then she worked for two years at the Volkstheater in Vienna, then for a short time at the Thaliatheater in Hamburg, from where she was engaged at the Kaiserjubiläums-Stadttheater in Vienna. In 1902 Lanius joined the association of the Hofburgtheater, where she made her debut as "Goneril" in "Lear" (February 21), but could not assert herself there.
From 1906 to 1910 she worked in Brno, and from 1910 to 1915 she appeared on various stages. From 1915 to 1923 she worked again in Brno.
She was married to the actor Hans Kreith from 1900 .
