Fridolin Fassbind

Fridolin Fassbind (born January 27, 1821 in Ingenbohl ; † November 1, 1893 , Catholic , resident in Ingenbohl) was a Swiss hotelier and politician .

biography

Fridolin Fassbind was in Ingenbohl, the son of the January 27, 1821 host at Rössli in Brunnen born Dominik Fassbind. Fassbind initially took over the management of the inn from his father, which he successfully continued before he had the Waldstätterhof built on this site between 1869 and 1870, which soon became one of the most renowned hotels on Lake Lucerne and held a leading position in tourism during the Belle Epoque .

Fassbind married Anna (Nanette), née Steinauer, in 1852. His nephew was the Swiss composer Othmar Schoeck . He died on November 1st, 1893, three months before his 73rd year in Ingenbohl.

Fassbind, a member of the Liberal Party (as the FDP called itself in the canton of Schwyz), served as municipality and district council. In addition, he was elected to the Schwyz Cantonal Council in 1854 , where he was represented until 1868.
