Fridolin Glarner

Fridolin Glarner (born March 24, 1762 in Glarus ; † December 8, 1849 in Rapperswil , reformed , resident in Rapperswil) was a Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

Fridolin Glarner was born on March 24, 1762 in Glarus as the son of the cloth maker Johann Heinrich Glarner. In 1796, the manufacturer Fridolin Glarner and his brother Johann Heinrich (* 1769, † 1855) founded the "Gebrüder Fridolin & Heinrich Glarner" cotton printing company in Glarus , in which their cousin Johann Heinrich also participated. The company Krapp goods Châles and were Trauerkattunen made. After an expansion in 1816, it split into two companies that had to stop production in 1835 and 1836 respectively.

Fridolin Glarner's first marriage was to Anna Maria, the daughter of the merchant Peter Marti, and his second marriage to Rosina, the daughter of the judge Rudolf Weber. He died on December 8, 1849 at the age of 88 in Rapperswil.
