Fridolin dust

Fridolin Staub (born January 15, 1735 in Glarus ; † May 18, 1815 ibid), reformed and entitled to live in Glarus, was a Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

Fridolin Staub, son of the miller Balthasar Staub and Anna Margreth Heiz, worked for several years as a miller and grain dealer before he started a white tanning in Glarus in 1774 and shortly before 1795 at Giessen in der Abläsch together with his son Heinrich Heinrich (1767–1841) set up a stuff printing shop . After Fridolin Staub & Cie. In the first few years madder goods were mainly produced , but since 1820 production has been shifted to Turkish red items . After the liquidation of the company in 1857, the area and the buildings became the property of the Heinrich Brunner printing factory.

Fridolin Staub, who married Katharina in 1759, the daughter of the shoemaker Balthasar Heiz, died in Glarus in 1815 at the age of 80.
