Friedbert Mann

Friedbert Mann (born December 24, 1934 ) is a German weightlifting trainer . He was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit in 2014.

Life

Mann joined the AC Heros Wemmetsweiler weightlifting club at the age of 17 . In his prime, he pushed 130 kilograms. He was also a member of the Wemmatia Wemmetsweiler football club and the wrestlers of KSV Köllerbach . In 1975 he took over as coach for all age groups at AC Heros Wemmetsweiler. In addition, he is still active on the board of the association to this day. His protégés won championship titles in the team leagues of Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate , Lorraine and Luxembourg . Individual prizes were represented at both state and federal level. Mann was primarily involved in the integration of young athletes of Russian origin, including the Bundesliga club Friedrich Grauberger .

On the basis of these achievements, AC Heros Wemmetsweiler was recognized in 2009 as a base association for the Integration through Sport campaign . In 2014, Mann was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon by Federal President Joachim Gauck . "The high award recognizes the honorary commitment of the medalist, in particular his ability and perseverance to get young people enthusiastic about sport and to bring them closer to one another despite cultural differences." Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer left the plenary session of the Federal Council to congratulate Mann.
