Friedbert Wissmann

Friedbert Wissmann (born May 2, 1953 in Dresden ) is a German composer .

Life

Friedbert Wissmann studied information technology from 1973 to 1977 at the Technical University of Dresden . He then studied composition from 1978 to 1982 at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden . He completed both subjects with a diploma . After studying composition, he worked as a lecturer for composition with electronic sound generators from 1983 and was a lecturer at the University of Music from 1989 to 1993. In 1984, in cooperation between the University of Music and the Technical University of Dresden, he founded the Studio for Electronic Sound Generation , now the Studio for Electronic Music .

Wissmann was a member of the former Dresden song group “ Shift Theater” . He has been a freelance composer since 1993. In 1995 he founded the company WFP Audio-Video-Produktionen , which produces product and image videos as well as 3D computer animations, among others for the graphic artist Wolfgang Petrovsky .

Friedbert Wissmann became a member of the GDR's Association of Composers and Musicologists in 1983, and has been a member of the German Composers' Association since 1991 .
