Michael Flade

Michael Flade (* 1975 in Dessau ) is a German composer .

Life

Flade was a student of Hans Jürgen Wenzel in the composer's class in Halle . From 1993 he studied composition with Jörg Herchet , music theory with Manfred Weiss and piano and conducting at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden . With a DAAD scholarship, he was in a Masters program at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he was tutored by Nils Vigeland . From 1998 to 2001 he was a postgraduate student with Wilfried Krätzschmar in Dresden. He also studied musicology at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg .

Since 2001 he has been teaching composition, acoustics , instrument science , instrumentation , ear training and Max / MSP in Dresden. Since 2006 he has also been teaching ear training and Max / MSP in Halle. From 2006 to 2008 he represented the professorship for electronic music in Dresden and was acting head of the studio for electronic music . From 2008 to 2010 he was a lecturer in music theory at the Technical University of Dresden . Since 2010 he has been a lecturer in hearing education at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts .

He works and lives as a composer in Stuttgart. Many of his works use live electronics . He composed, among other things, In connection (2005, UA Matthias Lorenz ), changing, interwoven, at times left I (2002, UA Ensemble Sortisatio ), unconnected flows binding (2001, UA Reiko Füting ) and Eigenart blooms auf (2000, UA Ensemble Konfrontation ) .
