Friedemann Gottschick the Elder

Friedemann Gottschick the Elder (born March 30, 1928 in Breslau ) is a German church musician and university professor.

Gottschick studied church music with Ernst Pepping and Gerhard Schwarz . In 1953 he became cantor at the Luther Church in Düsseldorf . In 1967 he became head of the department for Protestant church music at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf . In 1975 he was appointed professor . 1976 he became cantor and director of church music to the v. Bodelschwinghschen Anstalten Bethel in Bielefeld . His son is the Berlin church musician Friedemann Gottschick .
