Frieder Lang

Frieder Lang (born April 28, 1950 in Affalter ) is a German opera singer ( tenor ) and singing teacher .

Life

Frieder Lang was a member of the Dresden Kreuzchor from 1960 to 1968 . In 1968 he came to the Federal Republic of Germany and studied at the Cologne University of Music , where he graduated in school music, church music, organ and singing (with Margit Kobeck-Peters ). At the same time he studied German and musicology from 1969 to 1975 at the University of Cologne . Lang also studied singing with Paul Lohmann.

As an opera singer, Lang had guest engagements at the Hamburg State Opera , the Cologne Opera , the Holland Festival , Klagenfurt , Heidelberg and Tel Aviv .

Since 2002 Frieder Lang has been professor of singing at the University of Music and Theater in Munich , now he no longer teaches there as a full-time lecturer, but as a lecturer.

Award

In 1977 Frieder Lang won first prize at the German Music Competition in Bonn, which is how his real career began.
