Friedhelm Decher

Friedhelm Decher (* 1954 in Ottfingen ) is a German philosopher and writer .

Life

Decher studied philosophy , German , psychology and education . After he passed his state examination in philology for teaching at grammar schools and obtained a Dr. phil. after receiving his doctorate, he teaches philosophy and German at the University of Siegen and the Wednesday Academy of the University of Siegen. He is also a lecturer in adult education .

His focus is on anthropology, ethics / practical philosophy, aesthetics, history of philosophy, philosophy of mind, relationships between philosophy, psychology, literature and education.

In 2013 he received the recognition award of the Dr. Margrit Egnér Foundation and the culture award of the municipality of Wenden .

Act

In his books and lectures he gets to the bottom of the characteristics of our life in modern society. It shows the connection between happiness, the meaning of life and the adventure society. In doing so, he illuminates the consequences that it has for people when he increasingly regards his ability to experience as the source of happiness and the center of life. Furthermore, he observes the tendency towards the development of a civil society and examines the connections between economic success, social failure, social inequality and the power of the markets.
