Friedhelm Helberg

Friedhelm Helberg (born August 17, 1938 in Nartum ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

education and profession

After attending primary school, Helberg attended evening school in Bremen from 1963 to 1965 and graduated from high school in Hildesheim in 1967. He then studied law in Berlin and Hamburg. Since 1975 he worked as a judge. From 1987 until his election to the state parliament he was director of the Osterholz-Scharmbeck district court. Helberg is married and has two children.

politics

Helberg has been a member of the SPD since 1978. In 1981 he became a councilor and in 1991 mayor of Gyhum Municipality . Since 1986 he has also been a councilor of the Zeven community and since 1991 chairman of the local SPD parliamentary group. In addition, he has been a member of the district council of the Rotenburg (Wümme) district since 1991 . Helberg has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2002.
