The cemetery chapel of Ostfriedhofs Magdeburg , as a celebration hall of Ostfriedhofes Magdeburg called, is a chapel on the east cemetery Magdeburg in Magdeburg district Cracau .

The chapel is located in the southern center of the cemetery at Mühlweg 11 .

History and architecture

The simple chapel was built in 1908 in the neo-Gothic style and financed by a foundation from the master mason Hermann Wilke , from whom the building plans presumably also came. For 13,000 marks he built a simple hall building with a polygonal choir closure on the east side. The building is plastered and is structured by brick bands and buttresses . The entrance is designed as a pointed arch portal. It is located on the west side and can be reached via an outside staircase that leads to a short vestibule. The windows of the chapel are designed as pointed arches and feature brick tracery .

The morgue is located in the basement of the building .

In the local register of monuments , the chapel is listed as a monument under registration number 094 71021 . Presumably by mistake, the chapel is also listed at Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 35 with registration number 094 71022.
