The St. Johannis cemetery church in Tirschenreuth is a small cemetery church in the Upper Palatinate district town of Tirschenreuth in the diocese of Regensburg . It was built between 1594 and 1596 for the city's cemetery.

description

The reason for the construction of the church was the relocation of the cemetery from the parish church to the city.

The altar dates from the Rococo era . The two saints John the Evangelist and John the Baptist , to whom the church is consecrated, are depicted on the altarpiece . On the back there is the dance of death created in 1939, consisting of 29 panels, which was removed due to the renovation in 1979. A figure of the Grim Reaper is attached to the roof .
