The Friedrich-Hölderlin-Schule Asperg , FHS-Asperg for short, is an urban primary school in Asperg in the Ludwigsburg district in Baden-Württemberg . Between 2010 and 2016 it was a primary school with a Werkrealschule as well as a branch in neighboring Tamm .

School operation

The Friedrich-Hölderlin-Schule-Asperg is a three-class elementary school with open all-day courses for the 1st to 4th grade as well as a preparatory class (VKL). The school is run by the city of Asberg. The facility has a cafeteria shared with the neighboring Friedrich-List-Gymnasium , a learning workshop, a school biotope and a playground. Language training is offered and two social workers are available. The school is a member of the youth guide program as well as the sponsored language promotion sponsorship program of the educational region of Ludwigsburg.

In the 2018/19 school year, around 300 pupils attended the school and were taught by 24 teachers.

history

After the population of Asperg had risen sharply from 1945, the city of Asperg built a new primary and secondary school in Lyonel-Feininger-Weg 1 in 1968. It was named after the poet Friedrich Hölderlin (1770–1843). Together with the Realschule-Tamm, which is operated jointly by the municipalities of Asperg and Tamm, it formed a school network. In 1995 the Friedrich-Hölderlin-School was extended by an annex. At the same time, the secondary school became a secondary school with a Werkrealschule in the 10th grade of which pupils from neighboring school locations also attended. With the entry into force of the Werkrealschulenverordnung (WRVO) of the state of Baden-Württemberg in 2011, the communities of Asperg and Tamm decided to merge the Friedrich-Hölderlin-Schule with the Realschule Tamm to form a primary and Werkrealschule with a branch in Tamm. The classes 1 to 4 and 10 as well as the VKL were taught in Asperg, the classes 5,6 and 7 in Tamm.

The abolition of the educational recommendation and the introduction of the community school caused the decline of the Werkrealschulen in the following years. At the Friedrich-Hölderlin-Schule in Asperg with a branch in Tamm, no more fifth grade could be formed in the summer of 2013. The communities then decided to convert the secondary school in Tamm into a new community school and to turn the Friedrich-Hölderlin-School in Asperg into a pure elementary school with all-day courses. The necessary renovation work in Asperg and Tamm was funded in 2016 by the state of Baden-Württemberg with a total of 891,000 euros.

On July 14, 2018, the school celebrated its 50th anniversary.
