Friedrich Alfred Lappenberg (born June 9, 1836 in Hamburg ; † June 28, 1916 there ) was a lawyer and Hamburg senator.

Lappenberg was a son of Johann Martin Lappenberg and Marianne Louise Baur, a daughter of Georg Friedrich Baur . After studying law, Lappenberg settled in Hamburg as a lawyer. He married his cousin Emilie Baur and lived for several years in the manor house in Baurs Park during the summer months . In 1875 he was accepted into the civil service as a judge and, after working at the commercial court, was soon appointed to the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court. From 1874 to 1883 Lappenberg belonged to the Hamburg citizenship . On January 11, 1888, Lappenberg was elected to the Hamburg Senate for the retired Georg Ferdinand Kunhardt . His Senate colleague Mönckeberg judged him in his memoirs: Lappenberg was a hardworking worker who did a great job in various offices - the insurance company, customs, hospital and, in recent years, foreign affairs (on Burchard's side). However, he was not a powerful, independent personality and therefore did not gain any decisive influence, which he probably did not want. Due to health problems, Lappenberg resigned on October 1, 1907, and Bruno Louis Schaefer was elected as his successor in the Senate.

The family grave is located in the Nienstedten cemetery in Hamburg.
