Friedrich August Elsasser
Friedrich August Elsasser (born July 24, 1810 in Berlin , † September 1, 1845 in Rome ) was a German painter.
Friedrich August Elsasser was like his younger brother Julius (1814-1859) a landscape painter . He attended the Prussian Academy of Arts in his hometown and was there a. a. Student of the landscape painter Carl Blechen . From 1832 he worked in Rome for a few years and was part of the circle of Joseph Anton Koch and the German Romans . From Rome he went on some extensive study trips to southern Italy and Sicily .
