Friedrich Buttler

Friedrich Buttler (born May 21, 1941 in Bodenwerder ) is a German economist . He was rector of the University of Paderborn and director of the institute for labor market and occupational research at the Federal Employment Agency in Nuremberg.

Life

From 1947 to 1961 Buttler attended school in Bodenwerder and Hanover and graduated from the Humboldt School in Hanover . From 1961 to 1965 he studied economics and sociology in Göttingen and Tübingen and completed his studies in Göttingen in 1965 with a degree in economics .

From 1965 to 1969 he was a research assistant at the Economics Department at the University of Tübingen. In 1967 he received his doctorate there. rer. pol., In 1972 he completed his habilitation in Göttingen. From 1973 to 1987 he was a full professor of economics at the University of Paderborn and from 1976 to 1987 rector of this university.

From 1988 to 1994 he was director of the Institute for Employment Research at the Federal Employment Agency in Nuremberg . From 1994 to 2000 he moved to the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture of the State of Brandenburg as State Secretary . From 2001 to 2007 he was Regional Director of the International Labor Organization for Europe and Central Asia in Geneva .
