Friedrich Carl Eichenberg

Friedrich Carl Eichenberg (born August 3, 1915 in Chemnitz ; † November 12, 2007 ) was a German Protestant regional bishop .

Life

Friedrich Carl Eichenberg was born on August 3, 1915, the son of the deacon and later pastor Alfred Eichenberg. After graduating from the Chemnitz State High School, he did labor and military service from 1935 to 1937 . From 1937 to 1939 he studied theology in Leipzig and Tübingen , followed by military service from 1940 to 1945, most recently as a captain. After returning from Soviet captivity at the end of 1949, Eichenberg continued his studies at the theological college in Berlin-Zehlendorf in 1950. In 1953 he was seconded to Breitenbrunn in Saxony and ordained there on August 2nd of that year . In 1960 he was appointed pastor in Freiberg , from where he was appointed to the Stendal Cathedral in 1966 as Protestant provost of the Altmark . After retiring in 1980, he last lived with his wife in Klein Schwechten near Stendal and published numerous depictions of sacred buildings.
