Friedrich Carl Lehr

Friedrich Carl Lehr (born December 9, 1899 in Darmstadt , † January 27, 1922 in Berlin ) was a German writer .

Life

Friedrich Carl Lehr was born in Darmstadt in 1899 as the son of the District Court Councilor Julius Lehr. He grew up in Darmstadt and attended the Ludwig-Georgs-Gymnasium in his hometown. Along with Joseph Würth , Ludwig Breitwieser , Karl Roller and Ernst Müller (1900–1916), he was one of the five founding members of the expressionist association Die Dachstube . As early as 1913 he published a school magazine “Das Spitzenkleid”, which, however, only appeared in a single issue. Lehr wrote short stories and poems from an early age. Up until the 50th edition of the leaflet “Dachstube”, Lehr was responsible for the leaflet's literary content. He gave literary lectures with his friends and reviewed newly published books. After graduating from high school in 1917, he was drafted as a paramedic. After the First World War he studied medicine in Frankfurt am Main , Heidelberg and Berlin . In Berlin in 1922 he married the poet and journalist Sylvia von Harden . At the end of January 1922, Friedrich Carl Lehr shot himself in front of the former Café megalomania in Berlin.
